How We Choose Presidents

Apparently, a good tan is a critical factor. From this story at USA Today online ...
Edwards probably did himself the most good.

He looked tanned and confident during the session.
And no, those two lines are not buried in the story; they're the first two lines after the first paragraph.

This, I suppose, is why the Republican front-runners are in trouble: With the exception of Romney, they look rather pale and pasty. Giuliani, McCain, Thompson ... take note. A visit or two to the tanning booth might do you good.

Left unsaid was that Edwards was the best-coiffed of the Dem candidates. That's his super-secret double-crossies weapon that will bring the soccer grammas to him in droves.

I agree, who wants a real ugly man or woman leading this country?

That's why dark-skinned candidates traditionally do so well.

Advantage Obama? It's pretty hard to be darker than a black guy. In seriousness though Ive noticed that edwards and romney are often attacked as lightweights, is it possible that the fake-tan and expensive haircut has something to do with that?
